Since the OS on my iMac is 10.5.8 (Leopard) I would open the folder
10.5 and click on the install package and follow the screens
as directed.
If you have OS 10.7 or Higher, like this computer that runs 10.8.3,
Double Click on the RTUSB D2870-4.2.6.0 UI-4.0.8.0_2012_09_28.dmg
file, and use the USBWireless-Install.pkg file inside of it.
After the drivers install, you will asked to restart your computer. Go
ahead and do it, as this is part of installing the software.
After computer is back up, notice that you have a new icon at the right
top dock. This is the Ralink wireless utility.
Make sure that you turn on the
AirPort Card as well- it’s in the same area.
It looks like a piece of pie with lines.
Now you will be plugging in the unit into the USB port on your
computer. You can use the USB cradle or you can plug directly into the
USB port.
