The lanyard should be long enough to prevent inadvertent activation. Do not let the lanyard become
entangled.
Maximum engine speed in troll mode is 1200 RPM.
Exceeding max speed can lead to transmission failure.
16. SmartCraft
TM
System Gauges
The instrument package on your boat includes a SmartCraft
TM
tachometer multi-gauge system. By
pressing the “mode” button on the gauge, specific information vital to the safe operation of the vessel
can be displayed. Refer to your SmartCraft
TM
gauge owner’s manual for specific information on how
to get the most out of the multi-gauge display.
17. Trim Tabs
The trim tabs are located on the hull at the transom and are used to level the boat (port to starboard)
caused by uneven weight distribution, too many people on one side of the vessel, or by strong winds
pushing the vessel to one side.
The trim tabs are controlled by switches located at the helm. LED indicators located on the switch
indicate the amount of trim tab deflection (one bar indicates the trim tabs are in the up position,
while all red bars indicate the trim tabs are fully deployed in the down position). To lower the port
bow (boat is running with a starboard list), push the left switch marked DOWN. Alternatively, to lower
the starboard bow (boat is running with a port list), push the right switch marked DOWN.
REFER TO OWNER’S MANUAL PACKAGE FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND WARRANTY INFORMATION.
18. Exterior Helm (optional)
An optional exterior helm is available which allows for low speed operation of your boat while in the
cockpit. The exterior helm, located on the forward starboard side of the cockpit consists of a steering
wheel, a hydraulic helm pump, and a mechanical gear shift/throttle control unit. In addition, the gear
& throttle mechanisms are located in the cockpit bilge, and a helm selector switch is located at the
main helm.
Operation
At the main helm (located inside the cabin) there is a helm selector switch located on the starboard
side, under the control unit. The helm selector switch mechanically “locks out” the control unit to
make sure that you can only control the engine from one helm. The gear & throttle mechanisms are
located in the cockpit bilge.
