Change Carbon
* Perform Carbon change only when
system is de-pressurized.
a. Disconnect the removable hose
fittings at the top and bottom of the
housing.
b. Loosen the Hex Bushing from the top
of the carbon vessel.
c. Unscrew the Hex Bushing with
screen attached from the top end of
the carbon vessel to allow access
to the carbon. Drain the carbon into
a container and replace with fresh
carbon.
d. Replace Hex bushing with screen
attached using Teflon tape on the
threads.
e. Re-mount the vessel, tighten Hex
Bushing, re-connect the hose fitting
to the top and bottom of the carbon
vessel.
f. The DEFENDER™ is now ready to
put back on line.
g. Once pressurized, check for leaks
at the inlet and outlet of the Carbon
Vessel.
