QShell Basics
When controlling a QuVIS Acuity from a shell interface, it’s helpful to be able to “ask Acuity” what your available
choices are when you cannot recall them. There are several levels of built-in help, as described below. For
additional information on command usage, see Appendix C.
How to get simple command help
At the command prompt, type
help
and press Enter. The system will display all available commands, like this:
Acuity:>help

How to get detailed command help
Enter most any command name and the system will display a template of how that command may be used, as well
as any options.
Acuity:>play
Usage: Play <name> [[<inpoint>] <frames>] [<options>]
Options: LOOP, QUEUE, ASYNC, SYNC, SHUTTLE, NOAUDIO, STATS,
HOLD, AUTOMODE, AUTOTRACK, SPEED x/x
TrigLTC|TrigInt <hh:mm:ss:ff>
TrigSys <hh:mm:ss>
SrcTC, AbsTC, AbsTC+<hh:mm:ss:ff>
Error 8004 (Illegal arguments) from 'play'
Note:
For some commands, such as
dir
or
stat
, which may be invoked with or without command line options, this
will execute the command itself.
