Connecting the Ethernet Cable
The QuVIS Acuity has a built-in 1000BaseT (Gigabit) Ethernet card that is used to connect to a standard Ethernet
network. The network adapter auto-senses the connection speed and is fully compatible with 10, 100 and
1000BaseT networks. The Acuity uses the standard RJ-45 Ethernet connector that accepts either CAT 5 or CAT 6
twisted pair Ethernet cables.
The QuVIS Acuity’s network cable port is located on the back of the unit on the bottom board module.
Attach RJ-45 Ethernet cable here (Port 1).
Connecting to a network hub or switch
Use a standard
straight
Ethernet cable to connect the QuVIS Acuity to a hub or central switch.
Connecting directly to a computer
To bypass the need for a network hub or switch, a network
crossover
cable may be used to connect a computer (or
other network device) directly to the QuVIS Acuity.
