Maintaining your trailer
5.1.
Periodic checks
Your trailer requires little maintenance, however at least once a year, for example before you leave
on holiday, it is essential to check:
- Tyre pressure: the specified tyre pressure is recorded on the trailer.
- Brakes: lining and control cables (lubricate them)
- Coupling head: lubricate the socket that sits on the towball
- Electrical systems: operating correctly
5.2.
Changing a tyre
Lower the two stabilising jacks opposite the tyre to be changed.
Loosen the wheel nuts.
Raise the trailer using your car jack by placing it below the axle or longeron.
IMPORTANT: NEVER PRESS THE JACK AGAINST THE FLOOR.
Before removing the wheel, lower the other two stabilising jacks.
Change the tyre and tighten the nuts after the jack has been lowered.
Check nut tightness after a few kilometres.
When working on the roadside, never unhitch the trailer as this will make the operation unsafe.
5.3.
Bodywork
The bodywork is electro-galvanised steel sheet metal with polyester coating or thermoplastic panels.
Maintain it as you would the bodywork of your car.

Maintaining the tent and frame
6.1.
When storing
Never leave wet canvas folded for more than 24 hours.
To protect your awning for many years to come, it is important to fold it once completely dry, and
store it in a dry, ventilated location. If you store your awning in the trailer tent, we recommend you
put it flat on the floor or a bed instead of tightly packed in a chest.
For the frame, it is best to store the tubes detached from each other.
6.2.
Cleaning
Our cotton canvases have an anti-mould coating.
If they get dirty,
never use detergents or grease removers
, and never spray insecticide near the
canvas.
Never use aerosol bombs under your canvas, as the gas deposits can affect the fabric’s
waterproofness and create leaks.
Greasy spots can be cleaned with Terre de Sommières clay. Dry marks can be cleaned with a white
pencil eraser.
When taking your tent down, lightly brush the canvas to remove any dirt. If the tent was erected
under a resinous tree, never try to pull off the resin residue as that will irreparably damage the
canvas.
You can remove those marks with water.
