ADJUSTING TELESCOPIC PUSH HANDLES 

 
The push handles allow an extra 160 mm of height adjustment and can be folded down 
independently. 
                                                     
To Fold and unfold the push handles refer to FOLDING THE WHEELBASE  page 11, Section

To Adjust the Height

 : 

 

Unlock the tri-wheel knob by turning it anti-clockwise 

Pull or push handle to desired height

15             MOVING IN AND OUT OF THE WHEELBASE & SEAT

 

Ensure that both the wheelbase hub brakes are on. 

If in the tilt position, depress the gas strut pedal and put the wheelbase in 
the upright position. 

Lift the footplates up. 

If necessary remove the armrests. 

Refer to the seating supplier's handbook regarding any instructions connected with the 
seating system to assist the occupant out of the seat.

OPERATING AND APPLYING THE SHADOW CLASSIC BRAKES

 

 
Your  Shadow Classic wheelbase is fitted with SP500 attendant brakes as shown be-
low. 
 

To  apply  the brakes,  grip  the  end  of  the lever  and pull upwards  gently  but 
firmly until the brakes lock into position. 

Whilst holding the wheelbase in position immediately apply the brake on the 
other side of the wheelbase by operating the above.  

When both left hand and right hand brakes are locked into position, check 
that the wheelchair is securely anchored. 

Never let go of the wheelchair until both brakes are locked into position.
