CONNECTING POWER
Using the Rechargeable Battery Pack
Your radio has a built-in power generator to charge the internal re-
chargeable battery pack. When you rotate the crank for as little as
2 minutes, the generator charges the Ni-Cd battery to power the
radio for over 30 minutes.
1. To remove the battery compart-
ment cover, push the cover’s
tabs down and pull the cover in
the direction of the arrows
marked on the cover.
2. The supplied Ni-Cd battery is
installed but not connected.
Insert the battery pack’s white
plug into the socket.
Cautions:
• The battery pack’s polarized
plug fits into the socket only
one way. Do not force it. If the plug does not fit properly,
turn it over and try again.
• The supplied battery pack plug has the red wire towards
the top of the radio when inserted correctly.
3. Replace the compartment cover.
4. Set
DYNAMO/BATTERY
to
DYNAMO
or
BATTERY
. Charging
takes place in either position.
