Powering Your Radio
Your new RadioShack radio can be powered by
four sources: 3 AAA batteries (not included), the
built-in rechargeable battery, the built-in solar
panel, and a USB power adapter (not included).
Install Alkaline Batteries
Open the compartment cover of on the back of
the radio and insert 3 AAA batteries (not included)
matching the polarity symbols (+ and -) inside the
battery compartment.
Alkaline batteries are optional and not required to
use the radio. However, we recommended having
batteries on hand as a secondary power source in
the event of an emergency.
Alkaline Battery Notes
• Dispose of used batteries promptly and properly. Do
not burn or bury them.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.
• Replace batteries when they are low. Do not mix old
and new batteries or batteries of different types,
capacities, or chemistries.
• If you do not plan to use your radio for a long period
of time, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak
chemicals that can damage electronic parts.
• For best results, we recommend using RadioShack
alkaline batteries.
