TROUBLESHOOTING
If your transceiver is not working as it should and it displays an
error message, these suggestions might help you eliminate the
problem. If the transceiver still does not operate properly, take it
to your local RadioShack store for assistance.

S-SHORT
If the transceiver
detects a shorted
external microphone
connection, it auto-
matically switches off
power to the audio
amplifier and dis-
plays
S-SHORT
to
indicate a short cir-
cuit.
Remove the con-
nected micro-
phone and
replace it, or use
the internal micro-
phone.
PLL-Error
Indicates a PLL cir-
cuit malfunction due
to a defect in the
VCO circuit or bias
supply.
Turn power off
then on again.
EEP-Error
The EPROM infor-
mation needs to be
reset.
Reset the trans-
ceiver. See
