Estimating Calculation Results
If you perform an operation that results in
an overflow error, you can estimate the
approximate value (to 12 significant digits)
by following this procedure.
1. Count the number of digits displayed
to the left of the decimal point.
2. Remove the decimal point.
3. Add to the right of the number as
many zeros as there were digits to
the left of the decimal point.
For example, the displayed value
;'$&'*(&,*&*(+
;'$&'*(&,*&*(+
;'$&'*(&,*&*(+
;'$&'*(&,*&*(+
is estimated to equal
1,014,206,404,250 (one zero added).
4. Press
C
to clear the error.
