Turning the Radio On for the First Time
1. Connecting the unit to any other power source may damage the unit. Unwind the
mains adapter cable to its full length. Connect the end of the cable to the DC Socket at
the rear of the unit and then connect the mains adapter to the mains socket. Make sure
the mains adapter is firmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now connected
and ready to use.
Ensure all connections are
connected before connecting to
the mains power socket.
Remove the mains plug from the
mains socket if you want to switch
the unit off completely.
2. When your radio is connected to power, the unit will be in Standby mode.
3. Always unclip and extend the aerial when listening to
DAB or FM radio. The aerial has a swivel base so can be
set to different angles for best reception.
Extend the aerial before switching to DAB mode
for the first time. This will ensure that the initial scan
captures all stations in your area.
4. Press ON/STANDBY on the unit or on the remote
control to switch the unit between the ON and
STANDBY modes.
5. The unit will automatically enter into DAB mode and
perform the auto scan function. During the scan the
display will show “Scanning …” together with a slide
bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the
amount of stations that have been found so far.
Once the scan has finished, the unit will broadcast the
first alphanumerically found station. To explore the
found stations,
turn SCROLL dial on the unit or press
on the remote control
. When you find a station
that you would like to listen to, press
SELECT on the
unit or OK on the remote control
.
All stations that have been found will be automatically stored.
