Local
Connection
method
uses
broadcast
packets
to
“discover”
the
attached
ODU

you
log
on
using
Local
Connection

but
your
physical
connection
is
not
local
(i.e.
anything
other
than
a
direct
connection
between
the
managing
computer
and
the
PoE
device),
then
any
configuration
you
carry
out
may
affect
other
links
in
the
network.
Do
not

Do
not
carry
out
this
procedure
using
a
multi
homed
managing
com

puter
also
connected
to
a
network.
It
will
flood
the
network
with
broadcast
packets.
Further,
it
will
throw
any
other
links
on
the
network
into
Installation

Inactive
mode.

any
event,
as
a
precaution,
default
log
‐
on
over
Local
Connection
is
read
‐
only
mode.
Check
the
Read/Write
enable
box
to
carry
out
instal
‐
lation
procedures.

Network
log
on
(IP
address
to
the

recommended.
