Securing the Smoke Unit
While MTH does not recommend operating outdoors in inclement weather (in order to
prevent possible damage to the electronics), we have included for your convenience, a
smoke stack “cap” inside your locomotive packaging. This cap should be inserted on
the smoke stack to prevent moisture from entering the smoke unit chamber.
NOTE:
Ensure that the smoke unit is turned off when the cap is in place.

Installing Coupler Pilot Details
Apply the straight brake hose details to the rear locomotive pilot and the angled brake
hose details to the leading locomotive pilot as shown below.

Installing The Snow Plow
A separately supplied snow plow can be snapped onto the leading locomotive pilot. To
do this, slide the snow plow over the angled brake hose details and snap the bottom of
the snow plow to the pilot. See photo below.
