Weather source data is used for analysis of site requirements and for maintenance
of a historical database. After you have set up a weather source, you may want to
view historical or recent data from the weather source, contact the weather source
manually, or monitor the weather source. This chapter describes how to do so.
Using the Weather Source Window and Toolbar
The Weather Source window allows you to view historical and recent data from the
weather source and contact the weather source manually. The Weather Source
window has two tabbed sheets: Historical and Recent, which are described in the
following sections. In addition, the Weather Source toolbar contains six buttons that
allow you to perform the following operations:

Connect
— allows you to contact a weather source manually. For more
information, see “Manually Contacting a Weather Source” on page 8.8.

Monitor Weather
— allows you to view the current data from the weather
source, see “Displaying Current Weather Source Data” on page 8.9.
•
Get Logged Data
— retrieves logged weather data from the weather source, see
“Getting Logged Weather Source Data” on page 8.10.
•
Disconnect
— allows you to end manual contact with a weather source. For
more information, see “Disconnecting from a Weather Source” on page 8.12.
•
Weather Properties
— displays the Weather Properties Setup dialog box so
you can change a weather source name, password and type.
•
Update User-Entered Weather Source
— displays a dialog box so you can
change information about temperature, rainfall, humidity, solar radiation, wind
direction, and wind speed for the open weather source.
To open a Weather Source window for a new weather source:
Select the New option from the Weather menu.
The Weather Source wizard begins to run automatically. Follow the directions in
“Using the Weather Source Wizard for Interactive Setup” on page 5.2. At the
completion of the wizard, a Weather Source window opens for the new weather
source.
