SECTION 13
MOUNTING
This information must be read and followed carefully to
prevent accidents and injuries during mounting.
1. Inspect the wheel closely for damage. Clean the wheel
and remove any light corrosion or rubber residue. Do not
attempt to service heavily corroded wheels. (See Fig. 13.1)
2. Inspect tire for damage, paying close attention to the
beads. Verify size match between tire and wheel.
(See Fig. 13.2)
3. Lubricate both tire beads liberally with tire manufacturer’s
approved lubricant. (See Fig. 13.3)
WARNING!
Check tire and wheel carefully before
mounting. Make sure the tire bead diameter and
wheel diameter match exactly. Consult the Rubber
Manufacturer’s Association for approved rim
widths for tire sizes.
DANGER!
Attempts to force a bead seat on mis-matched tires
and wheels can cause the tire to violently explode,
causing serious personal injury or death to
operator and/or bystanders.
WARNING!
Never mount a tire and wheel handed to you by
anyone without checking both tire and wheel for
damage and compatibility. Be extra cautious of
persons without knowledge of tire service.
Keep bystanders out of service area.
