Installation:
1.
Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the 2100-GSMLC4. Insert the SIM card into the slot. The gold
contact side faces down and the chamfered corner edge goes in first. Use a small flat head screw
driver to push in on the SIM card until it “clicks” into place.
Note:
Do NOT use a SIM card adapter to install nano sized SIMs into the 2100-GSMLC4. The adapter
edge can catch and cause permanent damage.
2.
Screw the provided dual-band antenna into “CELL 1” port on the 2100-GSMLC4. Antenna should be
mounted in an area that allows for a strong cellular signal.
Note:
The phone jack on this device supports a distance of up to 1,000 feet. If a stronger cellular
signal is required, this device can be remotely mounted up to 1,000 feet away from a RATH® 2100
series phone.
3.
Screw the provided flat GPS antenna in the “GPS” port on the 2100-GSMLC4.
Note:
If installing multiple 2100-GSMLC4s, antennas must be mounted at least 3 feet apart.
4.
Using the provided plug-in transformer, plug the barrel side into the power connector on the
2100-GSMLC4. Plug the other end into a 120vac battery backed-up power source.
5.
Allow at least 3 minutes for unit to fully boot. When the unit is fully booted and connected to a cellular
network, the status lights should be as follows:
POWER
= Solid Red
STATUS
= Rapid Flashing Green
CELL
= Blinking Green
GPS
= Green
SIGNAL STRENGTH BARS
= At least 2 or more bars illuminated
Note:
If CELL light remains red, it is usually an indication of a poor antenna connection or a problem
with the activation on the cellular network. Verify that the SIM card is properly installed and that it has
valid activation with a GSM carrier.
