Safety instructions during use
To avoid property damage, injury or death:

Only use the VarioSmoker inside the
cooking cabinet of a combi-steamer.
n
Never place the power supply cable
plug inside the cooking cabinet.
n
Only use the VarioSmoker in a combi-
steamer operated below an active ex-
traction system.
n
Do not use the VarioSmoker if only
one air circulation system such as the
UltraVent or the UltraVent Plus is
available.
n
Make sure that the power supply unit
is connected securely with the holder.

To prevent fire risk:
n
Only use commercial wood chips and
wood pellets for smoking. More infor-
mation is available here:
n
Do not soak the smoking material in
alcohol.
n
Do not open the cooking cabinet door
while smoking food.
n
Do not start the cool down function
while smoking food. Higher ventilation
settings can cause sparks to fly, poten-
tially burning the food too quickly.
To avoid scalding and burn injuries:
n
Wear personal protection equipment
when you are removing the Var-
ioSmoker, food or objects from the
hot cooking cabinet. The VarioSmoker
can reach temperatures of over 60°C.
Safety instructions after use
n
Open the cooking cabinet door care-
fully after use. Hot steam may escape.
n
Carefully open the lid of the hot Var-
ioSmoker. Hot steam may escape.
n
Do not store any flammable sub-
stances near the hot VarioSmoker.
n
Clean the VarioSmoker after every use.
n
Clean the cooking cabinet door gasket
with lukewarm water, a mild cleaning
agent and a soft cloth after you have
smoked food. This will remove un-
pleasant smells.
n
When the VarioSmoker will not be
used for longer periods, disconnect its
power supply unit from mains power.
2.1 Personal protective equipment

Only use the unit when wearing cloth-
ing that will protect you against work-
related accidents, especially due to
heat, splashing hot liquids, or corrosive
substances.
n
Wear gloves that will provide reliable
protection when handling hot or
sharp-edged objects.
n
When cleaning the unit, wear tight-fit-
ting safety glasses and chemical pro-
tective gloves that will allow you to
handle cleaning products safely.
