Introduction

The field update kit (P/N 117-0171-467) is designed to allow the Raven Viper Pro 
to utilize the automatic power down feature without returning the console to Raven 
Industries.

The procedures in this document are intended for use on Case IH application 
equipment but may be used as a reference if the Viper Pro is installed on other 
equipment. For additional assistance with the field update kit, please contact a 
local Raven dealer.

Important:  

Do not modify contents of the supplied USB flash drive. Files stored 

on the provided flash drive are configured from the factory and should not 
be removed until the field update process is complete.

Note:  

The firmware update program required to complete the field update is only 

compatible with CAN firmware versions later than 15. Any systems 
operating with firmware versions 15 or earlier will need to be returned to 
Raven Industries for update. Contact a local Raven dealer for assistance.

Important Safety Information

• Read the following procedures carefully before installing the field update kit and 

follow all safety information presented within this guide.

• Do not reverse the power leads. Doing so could cause severe damage to the 

equipment. Always make sure that the power leads are connected to the correct 
polarity as described in the following procedures.

• It is recommended to disconnect the Raven Viper Pro from the interface 

harness before rewiring the cable to prevent damage to the field computer.
