Installing a Ferrite Cylinder on a DTE Cable
Do the following for each DTE cable:
1)
Pass the DTE cable through the cylinder.
2)
Set the cable into the cylinder cutouts.
3)
Position the cylinder as close as possible to the plug you install on the backplane connector.
4)
Snap the cylinder closed. You can reopen and close it to reset the cable.
5)
Insert the cable into the DTE connector on the modem backplane connector, with the ferrite
cylinder close to the backplane connector.
Installing a Ferrite Cylinder on a Power Cable
Do the following for each power cable of a Modular Nest enclosure populated with
3267 and
3268 V.34 Modems
.
1)
Snugly wrap the cable
once completely around
the cylinder (Figure 2-6).
2)
Set the cable into the cylinder cutouts.
3)
Ensure that 1 to 1-1/2 inches of the cable protrude from the cylinder (on the end you insert
into the backplane connector.)
4)
Snap the cylinder closed. You can reopen and close it to reset the cable.
5)
Insert the cable into the Modular Nest enclosure connector (with the ferrite cylinder close to
the connector).
