8 Antenna Cable Installation
This section provides procedures to proper routing of the RF cable from the antenna to the mobile receiver
inside the vehicle.
8.1 Routing Cable on the Roof
1. Attach one end of the receive cable to the antenna. Use the provided SMA wrench to tighten the
connector (Figure 8-1).
Be careful not to over-tighten the connector.
Only turn until the connector is snug.
2. Route the cable to the point of entry (POE). Secure the cable along the crossbars or side rails of the
vehicle’s roof rack system (Figure 8-2). Use tie-wraps or self adhesive cable straps to secure the cable.
Some vehicles have rubber trim along the edge of the vehicle’s roof that may allow the cable to be hidden.
Be careful not to pinch or bend the cable when routing it below side rails.

Tools and Installation:
Be sure to seal the POE with silicone or equivalent sealant.
This will prevent water from penetrating into the vehicle.
