Failsafe
sets the behavior of the receiver in the event of signal loss. It is always necessary to turn off the motor
when signal is lost. Otherwise, the plane might fly away. A signal loss does not normally occur, but it is good to
be prepared for this situation.
Press
OK
, use the
down
button to switch
failsafe
to
ON
and hold
Cancel
to confirm. Use the
down
button to
switch to the next channel and repeat this for the first 4 channels. When
failsafe
is turned on, the current
channel value is saved. Especially when setting the third channel, you need to have the throttle down.
Optionally, we can set a slight deflection at the fourth channel (rudder), which will make the airplane slowly
turn/circle and will not sail straight on.
After turning on
failsafe
on all four channels, save it by holding the
Cancel
button.
Now the plane is built, the radio is set up, and it's time to go flying. Always recharge your batteries before your
flight. Li-po batteries need to be properly cared for. Do not overcharge or discharge them way too much. A
suitable charger will take care of overcharging. The airplane can fly about 5-6 minutes on one battery. The ESC
monitors the voltage of the battery and noticeably limits the motor power when it is discharged. Once you start
to feel a drop in thrust, it's time to land quickly and change the battery.
There is a good chance that you will crash the plane. Especially, at the first acrobatic attempts. Yak 55 is
relatively durable and when EPP is torn apart, it is very easy to glue it back together. We recommend taking glue
with an activator to your flying spot. You can glue the torn EPP together and be back into the air within a
minute. If you break the aileron hinge, the super glue will unfortunately not save you. Flexible joints need to be
glued with UHU POR glue, which dries for some time.
