Positioning your Forge/Station
Before locking the wheels of your Forge/Station, it is important to determine what position your Forge/Station
will have to be in to perform your task. Please adhere to the following best practices (when applicable) before
deciding on your task. For technical specs on the operational workspace of the robot, see the included work
envelope specs document.

Angle of the Forge/Station:
Orient the Forge/Station by the door lathe so that the robot has to reach to
the left or right of the steel tabletop to enter the machine. Do not plan for the robot to reach over the
entire length of the steel tabletop or reach behind it.
1
Distance between Forge/Station and Lathe:
Depending on your machine and application, you will
probably want somewhere between 1 and 1½ feet between the base of your robot and your lathe.
2
Testing the position of your Forge/Station with a part:
Place one of the parts that is supposed to go
into your lathe into your gripper and test to see if it can orient the part into the lathe collet using these
steps.
