To install the cutting attachment guard and the
blade (BCZ3050SW)
1. Put the cutting attachment guard (A) onto the shaft
and attach it with the 2 bolts (B). Make sure that you
use the correct cutting attachment guard for the
blade.

2. Put the supplied tool into the hole in the bevel gear.
3. Install the blade (C), support cup (D), support flange
(E) and locknut (F) on the output shaft.

4. Tighten the locknut.
5. Attach the harness to the suspension point on the
shaft. Refer to
Product overview on page 2
.

To do before you operate the product
• Examine the work area to make sure that you know
the type of terrain. Examine the slope of the ground
and if there are obstacles as stones, branches or
ditches.
• Do an overhaul of the product.
• Do the safety inspections, maintenance and service
that are given in this manual.
• If blade is used, make sure that the locknut is
tightened correctly.
• Make sure that all covers and the cutting attachment
guard are correctly attached and are not damaged.
Replace damaged parts.
To select the correct cutting attachment
for the operation (BCZ3050SW)
• Select the correct cutting attachment for the
operation. Refer to the conditions that follow.
a) For smaller vegetation near the ground, select
RedMax 9 in. 22-tooth SST229 blade or RedMax
9 in. 24-tooth SST249 blade.
b) For thick grass or vegetation, select RedMax 8
in. 8-tooth SGB088 blade or RedMax 9 in. 8-
tooth SGB089 blade.
c) For thin grass, select RedMax 8 in. 4-tooth
SGB048 blade, RedMax 9 in. 4-tooth SGB049
blade or trimmer head with nylon thread.
d) For grass, select RedMax trimmer head with
nylon thread.
Fuel
This product has a two-stroke engine.
CAUTION: Incorrect type of fuel can result in
engine damage. Use a mixture of gasoline
and two-stroke oil.
Premixed fuel
• Use RedMax premixed alkylate fuel for best
performance and extension of the engine life. This
fuel contains less harmful chemicals compared to
regular fuel, which decreases harmful exhaust
fumes. The quantity of remains after combustion is
lower with this fuel, which keeps the components of
the engine more clean.
To mix fuel
Gasoline
• Use good quality unleaded gasoline with a maximum
of 10% ethanol contents.
CAUTION: Do not use gasoline with an
octane grade less than 90 RON/87 AKI.
