• Function #9, green LED, one long and four short flashes: Timing
Generally, higher values for timing increase the engine speed. Torque, however, decreases and power consumption
increases (lower driving time, engine and controller may overheat). The manufacturer has already chosen the best
settings for the engine built into the vehicle. It should only be changed by experienced model sportsmen.
Settable values are 0.00°, 3.75°, 7.50°, 11.25°, 15.00°, 18.75°, 22.50° and 26.25°.
• Function #10, green LED, 2 long flashes: Overheating protection
As preset by the manufacturer, the overheating protection of the speed controller activates if a temperature of
approx. 95? is measured for longer than 5 seconds. In this case the motor is switched off and the green LED flashes.
For safety reasons, we recommend that you always activate the overheating protection.
When it is switched off, the speed controller unit can be destroyed by overheating, and your guarantee will
be void!
• Function #11, green LED, 2 long and 1 short flashes: Rotational direction of the motor
Depending on the vehicle gearbox, the rotational direction of the motor can be changed.
This has the same effect as swapping two of the three cables between the speed controller and the motor. This will
also reverse the rotational direction of a brushless motor.
This setting was already made according to the vehicle in the factory and should not be changed.
• Function #12, green LED, two long and 2 short flashes: Number of LiPo cells
You should only connect fully charged driving batteries to the speed controller. Otherwise, a wrong number
of cells may be recognised in the „Auto“ setting, and the undervoltage-protection may not work properly.
This may lead to deep discharging of the batteries!
Therefore, we recommend changing the basic setting „Auto“ to the setting „6 cells“. This ensures that the
undervoltage protection works properly even if no fully charged driving batteries are connected.
When „Auto“ is selected (basic factory setting), the speed controller calculates the number of cells
automatically from the battery voltage measured at start-up. When the driving batteries that are connected
are not fully charged, this will lead to a wrong number of cells!
When the speed controller is switched on, green LED flashes and the motor beeps to indicate the number
of cells recognised. Observe chapter 8. h).
a) Voltage below 8.8 V -> 2-cell LiPo driving battery
b) Voltage between 8.8 and 17.6 V -> 4-cell driving battery
c) Voltage above 17.6 V -> 6-cell driving battery (correct for this vehicle)
