g) Switching on
Put the on/off switch of the speed controller (see figure in chapter 9. f) in the „ON“ position, see label next to the switch.
Leave the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter in its neutral position and do not move it.
The motor emits several flashing and sound signals. Then the LED at the speed controller should be permanently lit
in yellow; the vehicle is ready for operation.
The sounds are generated by a short start-up of the motor by the speed controller. Depending on motor
(e.g., depending on position of the rotor in the motor), the sounds may be very low.
Now check the drive and steering functions of the vehicle.
The LED at the speed controller has the following functions:
• When driving forwards, the LED at the speed controller flashes green; at full throttle forward, the green LED lights
up permanently.
• When driving backwards, the LED at the speed controller flashes red; at full throttle backward, the red LED lights up
permanently.
• The LED at the speed controller remains lit yellow in the neutral position.
If this is not the case, reprogram the full throttle positions for forward and reverse driving and the natural
position at the speed controller. Observe chapter 10 a).
The other basic settings of the speed controller have already been pre-programed by the manufacturer and
should not be changed for the first attempts at driving. The speed controller can be programed either via the
enclosed programming card (se chapter 10 b) or the transmitter (see chapter 10 c).
h) Controlling the Vehicle
Operate the throttle/braking lever for the drive function at the transmitter very cautiously and do not drive too
fast at the beginning until you get used to the car‘s reactions. Do not make any quick and jerky movements
with the operating elements of the remote control.
Never point the transmitter aerial directly onto the vehicle. It will strongly decrease the range. The maximum
range is achieved if the aerial of the transmitter and vehicle are both vertical and in parallel to each other.
If the vehicle tends to pull towards the left or the right when driving straight, set the steering trim on the transmitter
accordingly.
The speed controller switches off the motor for reasons of safety if the transmitter signal fails. The same applies in
case of overtemperature of the speed controller.
In the home position at delivery, the throttle/braking lever must be put in the neutral position (neutral position = let go
of lever, do not move it) briefly (approx. 1 - 2 seconds) between forward and reverse driving.
If the throttle/brake lever is moved from forward to reverse directly, the brake function of the drive is activated (vehicle
will NOT reverse).
Reversing can be deactivated using the speed controller programming.
In the basic settings at delivery, however, forward and reverser driving with the brake. See the next page on
how to control this (the figure of the throttle/brake lever of the transmitter does not have to match that of the
enclosed transmitter).
