e) Checking the retainer of the
rotor blade
To allow the 4 rotor blades (1) to orientate them-
selves at a 180° angle to each other during operati-
on, the screws of the 4 blade retainers () must not
be too firmly tightened.
If you pitch the model helicopter by 90° to the side,
the rotor blades must be able to let slightly down-
ward as illustrated in the figure.
10. Flight operation
a) Basic information relevant to the control of model helicopters
Attention!
Before starting to fly your model helicopter, you should take note of the following information
first.
Before operating your model, you should know the available control possibilities first in order to be able to safely
control the model.
The double rotor model helicopter is controlled via the two control sticks at the remote control transmitter.
The following functions are available.
Pitch Function
The flight height of a helicopter is affected by the pitch function. The control is effected with the left control stick. To
that effect, the control stick can be moved forward and backward. Unlike with other control functions, .the stick does
not keep springing back to the centre position.
As the angles of attack of the rotor blades are not modifiable, setting the flying height is effected via a common
speed modification of the two rotors.
Pulling the control stick towards you switches off the motors and the rotors stop.
If you push the control stick forward, the rotors run and increase the speed according to the position of the stick.
When the control stick reaches the center position, the helicopter should hover.
