b) Programming the Special Functions
The speed controller is already pre-programmed with the most sensible pre-settings ex works.
If a LiPo battery is used as a drive battery, check the basic settings of the speed controller for whether
undervoltage protection is activated (usually 3.0 V/cell). With the undervoltage recognition deactivated, the
LiPo battery will suffer deep discharge and be destroyed.
If an NiMH-drive battery is used, deactivate the undervoltage recognition.
The programming can be performed very easily via the setup button.
Proceed as follows for programming:
• Switch on the transmitter if you haven’t done it already.
• Switch off the speed controller („OFF“).
• Keep the setup button (2) pressed and turn the speed
controller on („ON“).
Continue to push and hold the setup button (2). Don‘t
release it.
• The LED at the speed controller flashes red; the motor
emits beeps. Continue to push and hold the setup button
(2). Don‘t release it.
The beeps are generated by a short start-up of the brushless motor. These beeps may be very low, depen-
ding on the motor. In this case, observe the LED on the speed controller.
• After some time, the LED flashes green (keep the setup button pushed, do not release it!) and the motor emits
beeps.
The number of green flashes of the LED (or the beeps of the motor) shows which setting function is currently selec
-
ted.
Note the table on the following page.
• When the desired setting function that you want to change is displayed (e.g. undervoltage protection, LED flashes
3x briefly green + 3 brief beeps), release the setup button at once.
• Now the red LED flashes again and the motor emits beeps. The number of the flashes of the red LED and the beeps
show which set value is active (e.g. undervoltage protection 3.0 V/cell, LED flashes 4x briefly red and the motor
emits 4 brief beeps, followed by a break).
• Pushing the setup button (2) briefly changes the setting value. The number of red flashing signals of the LED and
motor beeps changes accordingly.
• To leave the setting mode and terminate programming, switch off the speed controller (move the slider to the „OFF“
position). If you switch on the speed controller then, the speed controller is ready for operation with the settings
made above.
• If any further setting is to be changed, proceed as described above (keep the setup button (2) pushed and switch on
the speed controller; keep the button pushed until the green LED flashes according to the desired setting function
and the motor emits the corresponding beeps).
