e) Trimming the model aircraft
If, despite a straight and perfectly aligned tail fin, the model tends to perform turns automatically with reduced motor
power, this may be due to twisted wings. If the model ascends too much or tends to lower the tip of the fuselage, this
may be due to incorrect centre of gravity or position of the elevators. In either case, you can trim the model. Since the
EPP moulded foam is tough and malleable, you can easily deform the wings and elevators with little effort.
Once carefully deformed in one direction, the material no longer readily goes back all the way to its original position.
There is a certain desirable residual deformation. If necessary, carry out several deformation manipulations until the
model flies straight ahead.
Elevator trim
If the model tends constantly to ascend, you can bend the trailing edges of the two indicated elevators slightly down-
wards to trigger an elevation rudder effect on the tailplane. For this purpose, use a utility knife to make a small cut in
the material to the right and left of the elevator.

If the model tends constantly to lower the tip of the fuselage, move the flight battery to the rearmost position in the
slot. As a second step, you can bend the trailing edges of the two indicated elevators slightly upwards to trigger an
elevator effect on the tailplane. For this purpose, use a utility knife to make a small cut in the material to the right and
left of the elevator.
