b) Commissioning
• Whenever you use the product, first make sure that there are no other models operated on the same frequency
within the range of the transmitter. Control over remote controlled vehicles will be lost! Always use different frequen-
cies.
For 27/40MHz remote control systems, the transmitter and receiver of the vehicle must have a crystal with the same
frequency. Only then can the vehicle respond to the transmitter. It is important for this that a transmitter crystal is
inserted in the transmitter (usually labelled “T” or “TX”) and a receiver crystal in the receiver (labelled “R” or “RX”).
• For 27/40MHz remote control systems, pull out the telescopic aerial of the transmitter completely. A short aerial will
cause the range to be greatly shortened. Do not exert any force when pulling out/pushing in the telescope aerial.
• The aerial wire of the receiver in the vehicle must be installed in the aerial tube included. The aerial tube is vertically
inserted into a special holder at the vehicle. Let excess aerial cable simply protrude loosely from the top of the aerial
tube.
Never cut off the aerial wire, never wind up the aerial wire. This reduces the range extremely.
• Only use suitable driving batteries for the vehicle (see “Technical Data”). In the case of operation with unsuitable
driving batteries, there is a danger of damaging the vehicle (speed controller, receiver, servos, motor). Never oper-
ate the speed controller through a power unit, not even for test purposes.
• Always switch on the receiver first before operating the vehicle. Then connect the two driving batteries of the vehicle
to the speed controller and switch on the speed controller. Otherwise, the vehicle might show unpredictable re-
sponses!
Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface before connecting the driving batteries, so that the wheels can
turn freely.
Check the position of the on/off switch of the speed controller and place it in the “OFF” position (switched
off).
Switch on the transmitter if you haven’t done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter).
Connect a fully charged 4-cell LiPo battery to the vehicle. You can also use the included Y-adapter to
connect two 2-cell LiPo batteries. They must be of the same build and also fully charged.
Hold the vehicle, but do not reach into the drive unit. There is a risk of serious injury! Never hold the vehicle
by its wheels!
Now switch on the speed controller.
• Before driving the model, check if it responds to the remote commands as expected.
Set the trimming for throttle/brake at the transmitter so that the engine does not turn when the lever for forward/
reverse driving is released (neutral position for throttle/braking lever at the transmitter).
Set the trim for steering so that the front wheels are about straight. The exact setting for straight driving can be
performed during a drive.
