d) Attaching the Telescopic Aerial to the Transmitter
For 27/40MHz remote control systems, the telescopic aerial of the transmitter may be included separately. Insert it into
the corresponding opening on the transmitter and screw it tight manually. Do not use any force when screwing on the
aerial and do not use any tools!
e) Inserting Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries into the Transmitter
Observe the operating instructions for the transmitter.
Open the battery compartment on the transmitter and insert new batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries.
Observe correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-), see label on the battery compartment. Close the battery compartment
again.
f) Switching on the Transmitter
For 27/40 MHz remote control systems, first pull out the telescopic aerial all the way; do not apply any force, and do not
bend the telescopic aerial.
Switch on the transmitter. Check the transmitter function (e.g. Power LED, etc.).
g) Connecting the Driving Battery to the Speed Controller
If you didn’t do so before, switch on the transmitter, see chap-
ters 8. d), e) and f).
Then check that the speed controller is switched off.
For this, move the slider away from the setup button (see
arrow in the adjacent figure; pushing slider to the left =
“OFF”).
To prevent a sudden starting of the wheels and therefore an uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the
trimming for the drive is maladjusted or neutral position is not programmed correctly, see chapter 10. a),
place the model vehicle on a suitable surface (or starting box), so that the wheels can turn freely.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels
The following driving batteries can be used for operating the vehicle or speed controller:
• A 4-cell LiPo battery (rated voltage 14.8V)
• Two 2-cell LiPo batteries (rated voltage 7.4V each) via the included Y-cable
• Two 6-cell NiMH batteries (rated voltage 7.2V each) via the included Y-cable
