11. Cleaning and Maintenance
a) General Information
Before cleaning or servicing, turn the speed controller off and completely separate the driving battery or
batteries from the speed controller unit. If you have driven the vehicle before, let all parts (e.g. engine,
speed controller, etc.) cool down completely first.
Clean the whole vehicle after using it. Remove dust and dirt using e.g. a long-haired clean brush and a vacuum
cleaner. Compressed air aerosols may also be helpful.
Do not use cleaning aerosols or conventional household cleaners. This may damage the electronics and
lead to discolouration of the plastic parts or the body.
Never wash the vehicle with water, e.g. using a high-pressure cleaner. This will destroy the engine, speed
controller and receiver. The vehicle must not get damp or wet!
A soft, slightly moistened cloth can be used to wipe the vehicle body. Do not rub too firmly to avoid scratch marks.
At appropriate intervals, you should perform maintenance work and function checks on the vehicle. This ensures
trouble-free operation and roadworthiness for a long time.
Motor vibrations and shocks when driving can loosen parts and screws.
Therefore, check the following items before and after driving:
• The tight fit of wheel nuts and of all vehicle screw fittings;
• Fastening of speed controller and receiver
• Glue-connections of tyres and rums or tyre condition
• Attachment of all cables (they must not get into movable parts of the vehicle)
• Perfect function of the speed controller fan
Also check the model for damage before each use. If you notice any damage, the car must not be used
anymore and has to be taken out of operation.
Where worn vehicle parts (e.g. tyres) or defective vehicle parts (e.g. a broken transverse link) must be
replaced, only original spare parts may be used.
