b) Commissioning
The manual for the remote control system is included separately. Always observe all safety information
included in it as well as any other information!
• Only use suitable drive batteries for the vehicle. Never operate the speed controller with a mains adapter, not even
for test purposes.
This vehicle is exclusively suitable for use with LiPo drive batteries with 2 cells (nominal voltage 7.4 V) or
NiMH drive batteries with 6 cells (nominal voltage 7.2 V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed controller.
Apart from this, the vehicle‘s drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. differential). Loss of gua-
rantee/warranty!
Never mix the two battery types! Either use two 2-cell LiPo drive batteries or two NiMH drive batteries.
Always use two rechargeable batteries of the same build (cell number, build, capacity, discharge rate) and
of the same manufacturer.
• When putting the device into operation, always turn on the transmitter first. Then connect the drive batteries of the
vehicle to the speed controller and switch on the speed controller. Otherwise, the vehicle may show unpredictable
responses!
Proceed as follows:
Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface before connecting the drive batteries, so that the wheels can
turn freely.
Switch off the speed controller.
Switch on the transmitter if you haven’t done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter).
Put the transmitter trimming for driving into the centre position.
Connect two fully charged drive batteries to the speed controller in the correct polarity (either two 2-cell LiPo
drive batteries or two 6-cell NiMH batteries).
Now switch on the speed controller. Wait for a few seconds until the speed controller has completed its self-
test.
• Check that the vehicle reacts to remote control commands as expected (steering and drive) before taking it from the
support and placing it on the ground with its wheels.
• If the drive does not work as desired, you may need to program the neutral position and the full throttle position for
forward and reverse driving; see chapter 10. a).
c) Driving the Vehicle
• Improper operation can cause serious damage to people and property! Only drive with the model directly in view.
This is why you shouldn’t drive at night.
• Only drive when your ability to react is unimpaired. Tiredness or the influence of alcohol or medication can cause
incorrect responses, just as with real vehicles.
• Please note that this model car must not be driven on public roads, places or streets. Also do not operate it on
private grounds without the owner‘s permission.
