e) Inserting the Two Drive Batteries into the Vehicle
Attention!
The drive batteries must not be connected to the speed controller yet. First switch on the transmitter, see
chapter 9. c) and 9. d).
Important!
This vehicle is exclusively suitable for use with two LiPo drive batteries with 2 cells (nominal voltage 7.4 V)
or two NiMH drive batteries with 6 cells (nominal voltage 7.2 V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed controller.
Apart from this, the vehicle‘s drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. main pinion). Loss of gua-
rantee/warranty! Never mix the two battery types (LiPo/NiMH)!
To insert the two drive batteries in the two holders (1 and
2), first loosen the four hook-and-loop-tapes (3, 4, 5 and
6).
Place the vehicle in the holders so that the rechargeable
battery connection cables point forward to the speed con-
troller.
Fasten the drive batteries with the hook and loop tapes.
f) Connecting the Drive battery to the Speed Controller
First switch off the speed controller. The on/off switch (1)
is on the side at the edge of the chassis, between the re-
ceiver (2) and the speed controller (3), see figure on the
right.
To switch it off, push the slider (1) towards the receiver
(„OFF“).
Then switch on the transmitter if you haven‘t done so yet
(see chapter 9. c) and d).
To prevent sudden start-up of the wheels and therefore uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the trim-
ming for the drive is maladjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable support (or starting box), so that the
wheels can turn freely in case of an error. Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
Now connect the two drive batteries to the speed controller. Ensure correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable =
minus/-). Do not use any force for connection. Make sure that the cables do not get into the drive of the vehicle or the
steering mechanics. Use cable binders for fastening if required.
Both rechargeable batteries must be fully charged. Never connect two drive batteries with different charge
status to the speed controller!
