Function #4, the green LED flashes briefly four times: starting mode by driving away
Depending on the setting, drivie off is performed with more or less force. The higher the setting value, the more
power the motor draws from the connected battery; its quality has to be accordingly.
A higher setting value should also be used on loose surfaces, otherwise an overload of the drive (gearbox,
differential) occurs.
•
Function #5, the green LED flashes briefly five times: maximum braking force
Depending on the position of the transmitter‘s lever, the speed controller provides a proportional braking force. The
maximum braking force at full deflection can be set between 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
A high setting value (e.g. 100%) reduces the braking distance, but has a negative effect on the drive‘s service life
(specifically for the drive pinion and the main gear).
c) Resetting the speed controller
This option allows you to reset all the settings that you have made in the speed controller‘s set-up to the factory setting
(see the grey markings in the table in Chapter 10. b).
Proceed as follows:
•
Turn on the transmitter. Let the throttle/brake lever in the neutral position, do not move it.
•
Turn on the speed controller (by moving the slide switch toward the set-up button). Now, the vehicle should be ready
for operation; on the speed controller no LED is on.
• Hold down the set-up button for a longer period, until the red and green LEDs flash slowly, simultaneously.
• Now turn off the speed controller („OFF“ position; see image Chapter 10. a) or b). Thereupon, all settings are reset
to the default settings; see table in Chapter 10. b).
•
For reprogramming the speed controller, please refer to the previous Chapter 10. a) and b).
Important!
If a LiPo battery as drive battery is used, you should check the basic setting of the speed controller to see if
the undervoltage protection is activated (normally 3.0 V/cell). Otherwise, when the undervoltage detection
is turned a deep discharge of LiPo battery occurs, which destroys it.
If a NiMH drive battery is used, you should disable the undervoltage detection or set it to a lower value
compared tof the LiPo battery; see Chapter 10. b), function #3.
