d) Inserting batteries/rechargeable batteries into the remote control
If you have not already done so, insert batteries/rechargeable batteries into the remote control. Observe the correct
polarity (po and negative/-) as indicated in the battery compartment of the remote control. To open the battery
compartment, slide the lid forward and take it off.
e) Switching on the transmitter
Always turn on the remote control before connecting the rechargeable battery pack to the speed controller.
Check the Power LED (fig. 1, pos. 3) to make sure the batteries still provide enough power. If the red LED flashes due
to low battery power, stop operating the vehicle and switch it off. Then exchange the batteries or rechargeable batteries
of the remote control with new ones.
f) Connecting the battery pack to the speed controller
Before connecting the battery pack to the speed controller, activate the remote control (see chapters 9. d) and 9. e).
To prevent a sudden movement of the drive and an uncontrolled movement of the model (e.g. if the trim
for the drive is wrongly adjusted), place the vehicle on a suitable support such as a starter box, so that
the wheels can turn freely and do not touch the ground.
Turn off the speed controller ("OFF"), see illustration to the
right.
Now connect the battery pack to the speed controller.
If you want to assemble the battery packs yourself, observe
the correct polarity (red wire = positive, black wire = negati-
ve).
g) Activating the speed controller
First switch on the remote control, see chapter 9. d) and 9. e), if you have not already done so!
Then switch on the speed controller ("ON"). See the illustration in chapter 9. f).
Usually, the speed controller is pre-programmed by the manufacturer.
If necessary, you can easily re-programme the speed controller (neutral and full-throttle position for
forward and reverse drive), see chapter 10.
