10. Operating the quadrocopter
a)
Charging the flight battery
The flight battery is charged using the enclosed USB charging cable.
For illustrative purposes, the charging cable is shown wound-up in Figure 4. Before first use, the cable tie
should be opened and the cable unwound to its full length.
Charging:
Connect the USB plug on the charging cable (1) to a USB
port on a computer/laptop or to a USB charger plug.
The charge indicator LED in the USB plug (2) lights up
and indicates the correct power supply in the USB charg-
ing cable.
Connect the reverse polarity-protected micro connector (3)
on the charging cable to the connection plug (4) on the
flight battery.
The charging process starts automatically and the charg-
ing indicator LED in the USB plug (2) goes out.
When the charging process has been completed and the
flight battery is fully charged, the red LED in the USB plug
lights up again.
Disconnect the flight battery from the charging cable im
-
mediately after charging and unplug the USB plug on the
charging cable from the computer/laptop or charger plug.
Warning!
Do not connect the USB cable to a USB hub
without its own power supply (e.g. a USB port
on a keyboard, etc.) as the current is not high
enough for the charge function.
The operating system does not detect any new hardware
when connecting the charging cable as the USB port is
only used for charging. Please note that most USB ports
on computers/laptop are only active when the computer/
laptop is switched on.
Therefore, we recommend that you only connect the charging cable to a computer/laptop that is switched on.
Important!
Only charge the flight battery in the quadrocopter using the enclosed charging cable. Never attempt to
charge the battery in the quadrocopter with a different or unsuitable charger!
