e) Basic information on steering quadrocopters
Before you fly your model, you should first familiarise yourself with the control possibilities open to you so that you
can fly it safely.
The quadrocopter is controlled via the two joysticks on the remote control transmitter. The following functions are
available:
Pitch function
With the pitch function, you can control the flight altitude of the quadrocopter (see Figure 8). Steering is carried out
with the left joystick (see also Figure 1, no. 12).
When the motors are started by remote control, they run at idle speed. If the joystick is now pushed forwards from its
central position, the rotational speeds of the propellers increase and the quadrocopter lifts off. Once the desired flight
altitude has been reached, the joystick can be returned to the centre position.
If the joystick is moved further forwards, the quadrocopter ascends. If the joystick is pulled back, the quadrocopter
descends (see arrows in Figure 8).
