WARNING #4:
When using on a concrete deck, drill holes and install a 3/8x2-1/2" wedge anchor
into both holes in the foot of each jack.
WARNING #5:
When using on a wood deck, put at least a 3/8x2-1/2" lag bolt into both holes in
the foot of each jack.
WARNING #6:
When using on a metal deck where the flutes are running perpendicular to the
leading roof’s edge, install at least a 5/16x2-1/2" self tapping sheet metal screw in both holes in the
foot of each jack.
WARNING:
Before setting up to work on a corner, you must read the next section.
WARNING:
Do not use the Trailer on a roof with a 30" or higher parapet wall.
WARNING:
Workers must always unhook from the Trailer before it is moved.

Before hoisting the Trailer to the roof, make sure the handle is not in the locked position (Fig. 3-A and
Fig. 4) and jacks are in jack holders on top of the Trailer. (Fig. 3-C)

Hoist the empty Trailer using the four lifting eyes provided (Fig. 3-B).

Position the Trailer no less than fifteen feet from the leading roof’s edge with the jack side of the Trailer
facing and parallel to the leading roof’s edge.

With handle straight forward, insert pin and lock (Fig. 5). Make sure Trailer handle is lowered against
the front tires.

Remove jacks from top of Trailer and place in the lower jack socket. Insert pins and lock into place.

Lower both jacks just to the point that there is firm pressure on each jack. Make sure they have an
equal amount of pressure. The jacks teeth should not penetrate the membrane unless there is a fall.
NOTE:
Do not go to the next step until the above steps are complete.

Hook tie-off device to a ring on the post in the middle of the Trailer (Fig. 8).
NOTE:
Use one tie-off device per ring. Do not attach to lifting eyes. Make sure the tie-off equipment
meets OSHA requirements under 1926.502 (d).

When using a Fall Arrest System, the tie-off device must be only two feet longer than the distance
from the tie-off post to the leading roof’s edge. (Refer to Fig. 9)
9.
When using as a Fall Restraint System, the tie-off device must be at least six inches shorter than the
distance from the tie-off post to the leading roof’s edge. (Refer to Fig. 9)
10. When you are ready to move the Trailer (all workers must have unhooked their devices from the
Trailer), lift jacks so they are above the deck. Lift the handle of the Trailer (unlocking pin if necessary)
and move to desired area. Make sure the Trailer is still parallel to and at least fifteen away feet from
the leading roof edge.
11. Lock and lower the Trailer handle.
12. Follow steps 6 through 9 above and continue working.
