General rules:
•
Users of motorized EDPs, including electric scooters, must behave carefully, both for their own security and for others.
•
Passenger transport is prohibited: it is a vehicle for personal use only.
•
It is forbidden to wear earphones or any device likely to emit sound.
Equipment:
•
The minimum age for using this scooter is 14 years old. Regulations indicate that users under 12 years of age must wear a helmet
(such as on a bicycle).
•
At night, or during the day by insufficient visibility (even in urban areas), the wearing of retro-reflective clothing or equipment (e. g. a
vest or armband) is mandatory.
•
Motorized EDPs must be equipped with front and rear lights, retro-reflecting devices (retro-reflectors), brakes and an audible warning
device.
•
It is prohibited to drive with a vehicle whose maximum speed is not limited to 25 km/h.
Traffic lanes:
•
Motorized PDEs are prohibited from driving on the sidewalk (unless the mayor makes special arrangements to allow them to do so).
On sidewalks, the machine must be driven by hand without using the motor.
•
In urban areas, they are required to use bicycle paths and lanes where they exist. Otherwise, they may travel on roads with a maximum
authorized speed of 50 km/h or less.
•
Outside urban areas, their circulation is prohibited on the roadway, it is strictly limited to greenways and cycle paths.
•
Parking on a sidewalk is only possible if it does not interfere with pedestrian traffic. The mobility law will allow mayors to enact more
precise rules of their choice.
Device-specific prohibitions:
1.
Do not cross lowered sidewalks or stairs: the scooter may lean forward and cause you to fall.
2.
Do not use the scooter when the outside temperature is below -5ºC.
3.
Do not use on oily ground, snow or sand (beach).
Special precautions:
1.
This scooter is not a freestyle scooter: do not use it with one hand, always keep both feet on it, do not try to do acrobatics.
2.
Wearing a helmet and other protective accessories is strongly recommended for any use.
3.
Practice and learn to steer the scooter in a flat and safe space before using it on a daily basis.
4.
Slow down or get off the scooter when riding on a poor quality surface.
5.
Use lighting when outdoor lighting becomes dim, as well as in the evening.
6.
Before use, check the proper functioning of the braking devices.
7.
Risk of falling or pinching: always follow the instructions for folding and unfolding.
8.
This product has been designed to receive a maximum load of 120 kg. Any use beyond this limit is prohibited, as is the carriage of a
passenger, even a child.
Be careful never to exceed the total load of 120 kg if you carry a bag.
Information relating to water projections:
This device is
IP54
certified. The protection class "IP" is a standard defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission's international
standard IEC 60529. This index classifies the degree of protection provided to electrical materials against intrusion by solid (dust) and liquid
(water) bodies. The first digit defines the resistance to solid bodies on a scale from 0 to 6, the second digit defines the resistance to liquids on
a scale from 0 to 8. In this case (IP54), the evidence shows that the scooter is protected against dust and water splashes from all directions
(rain and splashes).
This scooter is not protected from water jets from any direction from a lance (karcher and other hoses), from sea water, or from total
immersion (short or prolonged).
CAUTION:
Driving an electric scooter can be dangerous. Certain conditions, or improper use, may cause the device to fail without the
manufacturer's fault. The scooter is designed to move, so it is possible to lose control of it and fall or put yourself in dangerous situations,
even if you are aware of the instructions necessary for proper use. If such an incident were to occur, the user could be injured or even killed,
even if safety precautions were followed.
DRIVE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ALWAYS USE COMMON SENSE.
This manual contains many warnings and cautions about the consequences of not maintaining or misusing your electric scooter.
Since any incident is likely to "result in serious injury or even death", this sentence will not be mentioned again in this manual,
although such a possibility exists.
