Operation
a) Charging the rechargeable battery
The built-in rechargeable battery allows settings to be saved if the product is
disconnected from the power supply briefly (e.g. in case of a power outage or when
plugging into a different power outlet). The rechargeable battery must be charged
before you use the product. Proceed as follows to do so:
• Plug the product into a common household power outlet.
• The product must be plugged into a power outlet for approx. 5 - 6 hours without
interruption for the rechargeable battery to charge fully.
• Do not unplug the product from the power outlet before the rechargeable battery
is fully charged.
Settings are saved for max. 6 months when the product is unplugged from
the power outlet. If this period is exceeded, you must make all settings
again.
b) Setting the clock
• In normal display mode, press and hold the
+
button until the hour indicator starts
flashing.
• Press the
+
or
–
button to set the hours.
• Press the
OK
button to confirm. The minute indicator starts flashing.
• Press the
+
or
–
button to set the minutes.
• Press the
OK
button to confirm. The clock is now set and the time of day is shown
on the display.
c) Programming the time switch
• In normal display mode, press and hold the
–
button until the small arrow on the
display starts flashing.
• Move the arrow using the
+
or
–
button until the arrow points at the desired
switch-on time. Each press of the button corresponds to an interval of 30 minutes.
• Press the
OK
button. The section the arrow is pointing at will be marked in black.
This means that a connected electric appliance will be turned on at this time. If
necessary, press the
OK
button again to delete the black marking.
• Press and hold the
+
or
–
button to mark all sections in black as the arrow passes.
• Press the
OK
button to confirm. The display shows all switch-on times.
• All settings will be saved if no further button is pressed within 10 seconds.
d) Connection
• Make all settings following the above instructions.
• Unplug the product from the power outlet.
• Turn off the electric appliance you wish to connect.
• Plug the electric appliance into the power outlet on the product.
• Plug the product into a common household power outlet.
• Switch on the electric appliance.
• The connected electric appliance is turned on/off automatically dependent on user
settings.
• To disconnect the electric appliance from the product, first turn off the electric
appliance. Then unplug the product from the power outlet. Now you may unplug the
electric appliance from the product.
e) Manual power on/off
In normal display mode, press the
OK
button to toggle between 3 different modes. The
corresponding indicator is shown on the display.
Indicator
Meaning
ON
The connected electric appliance is on constantly, independent of
user settings.
OFF
The connected electric appliance is off constantly, independent of
user settings.
AUTO
The connected electric appliance is turned on/off automatically
dependent on user settings.
f) Reset settings
Press the reset button
R
with a pointed object to erase all user settings.
Maintenance and cleaning
• This product does not require maintenance. There are no user-serviceable
parts inside the product. Therefore, do never open/dismantle the product. Have
maintenance and repairs done by qualified experts or repair shops only.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical
solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Never submerge the product in water or other liquids.
• Disconnect the product from the power outlet and from the connected electric
appliance before cleaning.
• To clean the product, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient. Do not apply too much
pressure to the housing to prevent scratching.
• You can use a long-haired, soft and clean brush and a vacuum cleaner to remove
dust.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the
relevant statutory regulations.
The built-in rechargeable battery must be disposed of by a specialist.
b) Rechargeable batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used
rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated rechargeable batteries are labelled with this symbol to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations
for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead
(name on rechargeable batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used rechargeable batteries can be returned to collection points in your
municipality, our stores or wherever rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
