9. Preparation
a) Remote control
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery.
Remove the battery when the device will not be used for a while.
Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
Make sure that the battery is neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fire. Furthermore, the
battery cannot be recharged. There is a risk of explosion.
At startup, the battery of the remote control may already be inserted and protected from dis-
charging by an insulation film. Remove this film before operation, if necessary, by pulling it out of
the battery compartment of the remote control.
Replacing the batteries
• If the remote control is no longer functioning properly, the battery is run-down and must be replaced with
a battery of the same type.
• Pull out the battery holder on the backside of the remote control.
• Remove the used battery and insert a new 3 V lithium CR2025 button cell. The correct polarity is indicated
on the back of the remote control.
• Slide the battery holder back into the remote control.
b) Connecting the cinch outputs
If you want to use an external amplifier for playback instead of the integrated loudspeakers, connect the
amplifier as described here.
Before connecting the record player, make sure that the power adapter is disconnected. Also
turn off the audio amplifier to be connected and disconnect it from the mains supply by pulling
out the mains plug.
For the connection of the cinch sockets only use the shielded cinch cables. Use of other cables
may lead to interference.
To avoid distortion or mismatching which could damage the device, cinch sockets may only be
connected to devices which also have cinch connections.
Ensure that audio connections are made the correct way round, i.e. left to left and right to right.
• Connect the LINE OUT R (26) connector to the right input of the added audio amplifier.
• Connect the LINE OUT L (28) connector to the left input of the added audio amplifier.
