d) Handling, Operation

•  Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
•  Do not use the product if it is damaged. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric

shock!

•  If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be

turned off and precautions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintention-

ally. Do not touch the product.
First switch off the mains voltage to all poles (switch off the connected circuit

breaker or remove the fuse and then switch off the connected RCD).
After this, arrange for a skilled electrician to check the product.

•  Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:

 - the product shows visible signs of damage
 - the product does not work at all or well (flickering light, leaking smoke or a smell

of burning, the light flickers, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the prod-

uct or the adjacent surfaces.)

 - the product was stored under unfavourable conditions

Preparations for Installation

Please observe the chapter „Safety Instructions“!

•  Install the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire only on a stable surface. Use screws and

plugs that are suitable for the surface. Use the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire only

when it is permanently installed.

•  The moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire must be set up and used out of the reach of

children.

•  The moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire must be protected on the sub-distribution board

by a10/16 A fuse. An earth fault circuit interrupter must be installed before this (FI protective

switch).

•  During installation, the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire must be disconnected from the

power supply. It is not sufficient to just turn off the light switch!
Switch off all the poles of the mains cable by removing the corresponding fuse or switching off

at the circuit breaker. Then, switch off the associated earth fault circuit interrupter (breaker).

Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g., with a danger sign.

•  Check that the mains connection is free of current, i.e. with an appropriate tester.

Installation and connection

Pay attention to the information in the chapter „Preparing for Installation“!

•  First install the two holding brackets. Depending on the substrate, drill the holes (1) and

use the dowels (2); the interval between the holes for two holding brackets must be ap-

prox. 97 cm. Then screw down the holding brackets with two screws (3).

When drilling mounting holes or screwing into place, ensure that no existing electri-

cal cable, gas or water pipes are damaged.

•  Remove the cover from the underside of the product, on the side of cable gland. Use a slot

screwdriver for this purpose and pry open carefully the four clips of the cover (4). Then the

cover can be easily removed (5).

•  Remove the outer insulation of the power supply cable for a length of about 3 cm. Remove

the insulation of individual wires for a length of 6 mm.

•  Push connection cable through the cable gland and connect the mains supply line (brown

wire = L/phase, blue wire = N/neutral) with corresponding screw terminals in the moisture-

proof LED diffuser luminaire (7).

The moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire is designed according to protection class II.

There is no need in a protective conductor. If your connection cable has a protective

conductor, pinch off or fasten the yellow-green wire inside the moisture-proof LED

diffuser luminaire to the free central terminal to fix it safely.

•  Now screw the cable gland (8) tight to fasten the power supply line correctly and thus ensure

protection against penetrating humidity.

•  Replace the cover (9) so that all four corners click properly into place.
•  Clip the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire to both holding brackets, so that the latter click

properly into side openings.

•  Switch on the mains voltage and make sure that the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire

is functioning.

If the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire is not lit up, switch off the mains voltage

immediately from all poles (take out the fuse or switch off the automatic cut-out,

switch off the earth fault circuit interrupter).

Thereafter, check the connections of the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire.

In case of doubt, contact a professional (e.g., an electrician)!

Maintenance and Cleaning

•  The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a

specialist. The LED bulb is permanently installed and cannot be replaced.

•  Before cleaning, turn off the mains voltage for the moisture-proof LED diffuser luminaire and

let it cool down sufficiently.

•  You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. In case of heavier soiling, you can moisten

the cloth with clean water.

•  Never direct water jets from a high-pressure cleaner or similar at the moisture-proof LED

diffuser luminaire.

•  Never use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, since

these could damage the housing or even impair operation.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household

waste. Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-

tory regulations.
