b) Persons and Product
• Never look at or near the sun or other strong sources of light through the
binoculars, as this can cause blindness.
• Improper use can result in the binoculars acting as a burning glass, which
constitutes a fire hazard. Do not leave the binoculars in direct sunlight.
• Ensure that you do not hit anything when using the binoculars, as this can cause
serious eye injuries.
• Stay still when using the binoculars.
•
Do not touch the lenses with your fingers.
• Do not swing the binoculars using the carrying strap, as they may hit you or others
and cause injuries. In addition, the binoculars may be damaged if they hit other
objects.

injury.
• The rubber eye cups may cause skin irritation after prolonged contact. If you
experience irritated skin, consult a physician.

b) Focusing
• Ensure that the dioptre adjustment is set to zero (the arrow must point directly at the dot).
• Look through the binoculars and target a distant object.
• Close your right eye or cover the right lens using your hand.
• Turn the focus knob (2) until the targeted object comes into focus in your left eye.
• Open your right eye and close your left eye (or cover the left lens).
• Turn the dioptre adjustment (3) on the right eyepiece until the targeted object comes into focus
in your right eye. Look at the plus/minus markings on the bottom of the right eyepiece (1) and
take note of the set position.
You may need to change the position of the dioptre adjustment from time to time.
• The binoculars are now adjusted for your eyes. When viewing distant or close-up objects, it is
sufficient to focus the binoculars using the focus knob (provided that the dioptre adjustment
is not changed).
If you are wearing glasses, rotate the eye cups to bring your eyes closer to the
lenses. This will allow you to use the entire field of view.
• Secure the carrying straps to the corresponding positions on the binoculars and the storage
bag.
Important
• Do not point the binoculars at other people without their knowledge and permission, otherwise
you may be liable to prosecution.
• Do not use the binoculars when you are moving, as you may not notice obstacles in front of
you and could fall over them.
• Condensation may form on the lenses if the binoculars are exposed to rapid changes in
temperature. This is a normal phenomenon and the condensation will usually disappear
within an hour in warm rooms.
• The binoculars can be used in the rain. However, do not immerse the binoculars in water.
Wipe water droplets off immediately using a cleaning cloth.
Dry the binoculars after use and store them carefully in the storage bag provided to
prevent damage or scratch marks.
