• Install the switch in an environment compatible with the operating temperature
range specified in ‘Technical Data’.
• Switches installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly can experience a greater
operating ambient temperature than the ambient room temperature.

Install the switch in a way that allows sufficient airflow for proper operation.
• When installing the switch avoid overloading the circuits and make sure the switch
is properly grounded.

Only use only the provided hardware to install the DIN-Rail.

Do not use the device as a shelf.
•
Never install communications wiring or components during a lightning storm.
•
Be aware of loose or damaged cable connections. Never touch bare wires or
terminals unless the wiring has been disconnected at the network interface.

Intended Use
This product is an industrial 5-Port (Item 1697433) / 8-Port (Item 1697434) 10M/100M Ethernet
switch that is designed for small to medium sized network environments. It is compact, has a
broad operating temperature range and comes with a DIN rail mount.
The switch has redundant power supply. It can accept 12 - 56 V/DC via wiring and 12 V/DC
power supply via power adapter (not supplied).
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture must be avoided
under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks or other hazards. Read
the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third
parties only together with its operating instructions.
