10. Charging the integrated rechargeable battery
The installed rechargeable battery cannot be removed and must only be charged in the device.
Never try to remove the rechargeable battery or to charge it at an external charger.
Never discharge the rechargeable battery completely, since otherwise the service life of the
rechargeable battery is impaired. Charge the rechargeable battery as soon as possible after
use in rechargeable battery operation and do not store the effect light for an extended time
with a flat rechargeable battery. If you do not use the device for an extended period, charge the
rechargeable battery completely and recharge it every 1-2 months.
• Connect the mains line to the device as described in “Mains connection”.
• Put the switch LOAD in the position OFF.
• Put the switch BATTERY in the position ON.
• During charging, the display flashes and shows the charge condition of the rechargeable battery (e.g.
b050 means rechargeable battery condition = 50%).
• With a fully charged rechargeable battery, a mains-independent operating time of at least 4 hours is
reached depending on operating type.
• To check the charge condition of the rechargeable battery, disconnect the device from the mains power
supply. Then put the switch LOAD in the position OFF and the switch BATTERY to the position ON. The
display now shows the rechargeable battery charge condition in % values.
A compete charge process at flat rechargeable battery requires approx. 3-4 hours. After approx.
1.5 hours, the display already shows 100% (b100), but to charge the rechargeable battery com-
pletely, the charge process must be completed first.
11. Mains or rechargeable battery operation
The effect light can be supplied with power via the mains connection or the rechargeable battery.
Mains operation
• Connect the mains line to the device as described in “Mains connection”.
• Put the switch LOAD to the position ON.
• Put the switch BATTERY to the position OFF.
Rechargeable battery operation
• Disconnect the device from the mains power supply.
• Put the switch LOAD to the position ON.
• Put the switch BATTERY in the position ON.
If the effect spotlight is used in rechargeable battery mode, the display can show a slight loss of
the rechargeable battery charge condition at first. This is normal and does not suggest a defec-
tive rechargeable battery.
In mains operation, the rechargeable battery should not be charged, since the integrated mains
unit might then be overloaded or charging may not be possible completely.
