  Operating instructions

  Tweeter F37

Item no. 370364

Intended use

The  tweeters  serve  for  transforming  electrical  output  signals  from  car  radios  or  amplifiers  to

audible acoustic waves. They are only approved for connection to loudspeaker output of such

devices.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you

use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In

addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read

the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together

with its operating instructions.
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company names

and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety

information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper

handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or

damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

•  The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
•  Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become

dangerous playing material for children.

•  Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high

humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.

•  Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
•  If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and

protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if

the product:

 - is visibly damaged,
 - is no longer working properly,
 - has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
 - has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

•  Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height

can damage the product.

•  Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are

connected to the product.

•  The tweeter  is capable of reproducing  sound with  sound pressure levels (SPL)

sufficient  to cause permanent hearing damage. It can be treated as physical injury

and persecuted  by law. Avoid extended exposure to SPL greater than 90 dBA.

•  Inattentiveness whilst driving significantly increases the risk of an accident. Do not

let operating the car audio system divert your attention away from your immediate

surrounding.

•  Excessive volume in car interior could distract the driver from audio warning signals

and thus jeopardises you and other road users.

•  When connecting the car loudspeaker, also observe the safety instructions of the

connecting device.

•  Local traffic regulation must be apprehended while installing/ operating the tweeters

or the connected audio system.

•  No magnetic storage media, e.g. floppy discs, videocassettes, etc., should be stored

in the vicinity of the loudspeaker. The magnetic field of the car speaker can damage

the information on these storage media.

•  The tweeter must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intense

vibration or dampness.

•  The diaphragm of the speaker must not subject to direct shock.
•  Modification to vehicle, which is necessary for the car speaker installation, must

be carried out in such a matter neither the traffic safety nor the designed stability of

the car is impaired. With many cars, the warranty collapses if modification is made.

•  Consult your car dealer when you are in doubt of selecting a place for installation.

Before drilling make sure that the electric cables, brake lines, fuel tanks or similar

systems will not be damaged.

•  If  tools  are  used  for  installing  car  hi-fi  components  observe  the  manufacturer’s

safety instructions.

•  The tweeters and the car audio system must fasten securely. Torn-off components

pose a threat in case of accident.

•  Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
•  Maintenance,  modifications  and  repairs  are  to  be  performed  exclusively  by  an

expert or at a qualified shop.

•  If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,

contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

Mounting

•  Choose an adequate mounting location for the tweeters. The tweeters should face directly

towards your hearing position.

•  The mounting area must be stable enough to guarantee safe fastening. If necessary it may be

reinforced by a wooden board or similar.

•  The tweeters can be either affixed on or inserted in the mounting location

-

With provided adhesive tapes,
a)  Stick the adhesive tape to the back of the tweeter and to the mounting location.

-

With provided screws
a)  Remove the base of the tweeters.
b)  Use the spare base as template to drill a hole in the middle.
c)  Route the tweeter wire through the hole in the middle.
d)  Affix the spare base to the mounting location with provided screws.
e)  Re-assemble the tweeter.

-

Insertion
a)  Drill a hole (approx. ø22mm) on the mounting location.
b)  Insert the tweeter through the hole.
c)  Put the metal ring from the back to securely fix the tweeter.
d)  For insertion, make sure there is sufficient room for the mounting depth. If the mounting

location is on the car door, also consider the room occupied by wound down windows.

Connection

When connecting the tweeters, make sure that the connecting cables are neither

squeezed nor damaged by sharp edges.
Make sure leads do not contact metal or other electrically conductive surfaces.
The tweeter should only be connected to suitable loudspeaker output ports of car

radios/ amplifiers.
Before you start the installation, make sure that the impedance and loading capacity,

as provided in the technical data, match the data of the connecting audio devices.

Otherwise the car speaker or the audio device may be damaged.
The ground (negative) cable must be disconnected from the car battery during

connection.  Avoid  placing  the  speaker  wires  near  the  car  radio/  amplifier’s  power

cables.

Connect the connecting wires of the tweeters to the loudspeaker leads of the main loud speaker.
A crossover network should be connected between the tweeter and car radio/ amplifier to avoid

the tweeters being damaged easily.
