A so-called "LiPo" rechargeable battery is integrated in the MPF337 multimedia player
(lithium-polymer). This modern type of rechargeable battery does not have the so-called
"memory effect", i.e., the rechargeable battery can be charged whenever you want.
Furthermore, it presents a higher energy content than conventional NiCd and NiMH rechargeable
batteries.
Please observe the following important instructions when handling the LiPo rechargeable
battery.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery, do not remove it from the "MPF337".
Note the chapter "Disposal".
Damaging the wrapping of the rechargeable battery might cause an explosion
or a fire!
The wrapping of the LiPo rechargeable battery does not consist of thin sheet
metal, like conventional batteries/rechargeable batteries (e.g. AA or AAA
type), but of a sensitive plastic film only.
• Never short circuit the contacts/connections of the rechargeable battery.
There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even when the product is not
used. The "MPF337" requires an (albeit small) "current" quantity in the
standby mode
A prior discharge of the rechargeable battery is not necessary due to the
used rechargeable battery technology. Simply recharge the rechargeable
battery fully, approx. once a month. In this way the device is always ready for
use.
• Never charge the "MPF337" unattended.
• During charging, place the MPF337 on a heat and flame-resistant surface.
A slight warming during the charge process is normal.
• Disconnect the "MPF337" from the computer if it is not in use.
