7. Charging the battery
The USB port used to charge the battery must deliver a current of
at least 500 mA. This is normally the case for most computer USB
ports.
Fully charge the battery before using the camera for the first time. A
full charge takes approximately 3–4 hours.
Charge the battery regularly, even when you are not using the
camera (at least once per month). Failure to charge the battery
regularly may cause the battery to overdischarge, which can cause
permanent damage.
• The rechargeable battery is located inside the battery compartment on the
bottom of the camera. To insert or remove the battery, press the small tab on
the battery compartment cover, and then remove the cover.
• Replace the cover after you have inserted the battery.
• Connect the USB cable to the USB input (6).
• Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on a computer or a
suitable USB power supply.
• The charging indicator (9) will turn on when the battery is charging and turn
off once charging is complete.
• Unplug the USB cable when the battery has finished charging.
• A fully-charged battery will last for approximately 50 minutes of video
recording with Wi-Fi enabled, or 90 minutes of video recording with Wi-Fi
disabled.
• The charging indicator in the bottom-left of the display (12) indicates the
battery status. Charge the battery when the charging indicator displays an
empty battery symbol.
If the battery runs out during a video recording, the Actioncam will
save the recording and switch off automatically.
