The following glossary is provided to assist the reader in a more complete under-
standing of the technical terms used in this manual.

configuration.
CPU
Central Processing Unit - the processor, or micro-processor
in a computer
CTD
Salinity Temperature and Depth sensor (sometimes used in
place of SVP or SSVP).

Mains
The source of primary operating power for the SeaBat 8101
system (either 120 or 240 VAC)
